The product is intended to semi-matt transparent coats of timber surfaces in both interior and exterior. It creates a permanent, semi-matt, protective film resistant to abrasion, also protects the wood against weathering and UV radiation. The film has a good sandability and water resistance. It meets the slip resistance requirements.
BENEFITS
• excellent decorative properties
• water and UV resistant
• meets the slip requirements (dry surface)
SURFACE PREPARATION
Before the application, the timber surface shall be clean, dry, well smoothened, with max. 12% humidity and free of resin residues. The timber surface with high content of resins (larch, pine) shall be cleaned of all resin residues, e.g. by washing by BALTECH C6000 nitro-solvent. Quality of wood preparation determines overall look of the wood final finish and affects total lifetime of the coating system.
First it is recommended to treat the timber surface with a suitable impregnation, which ensures uniform absorbency and higher protection of the timber surface of wood (in case of using fungicidal impregnation also protection against attack of mould, fungi and insects. Subsequently it is necessary to lightly abrade a surface by fine sandpaper in the direction of the grain, dust off and apply varnish.
Remove all poorly adhering old coats to the solid surface when renovate (in a case of a total removal of the old paint apply new paint system progressively, including wood impregnation).
Thinner: BALTECH S6006 for cleaning tools
Spreading capacity: 10 - 12 m2/l per single layer according to a timber absorbency
WORKFLOW
Properly mix before use. Apply by brush, roller or spraying on the prepared surface. It shouldn´t be thinned, it is ready to use.
Apply 1 coat of impregnating transparent wood stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 (for interior) or 1 coat of fungicidal penetration LAZUROL FUNGICIDAL IMPREGNATION S1033 (for exterior use). Wipe the surface after 10-15 minutes with dry brush or cloth. Lightly abrade a dried surface by fine sandpaper in the direction of the grain, dust off and only then apply 2 or 3 coats of the varnish. Optimal thickness of one coat is 25 – 30 μm. Interval between every coat is about 16 – 24 h.
It is recommended to apply at least 3 coats for new floors. Increased thickness of the final coat improves overall quality and durability of the coating. The first 14 days is necessary to protect the paint before rough handling and intensive washing surface with water.
