LAZUROL THIXOTROPIC VARNISH S1091 gloss

Solvent-based varnish is designed for transparent gloss/matt coating of especially vertical wood and metal surfaces, for example: wooden wall panelling and ceiling in interior and exterior. The varnish creates almost solid gel. It becomes thinner by mixing and application by brush is simple. Then it changes into gel again. It doesn´t flow down both the vertical surface and the brush.

SURFACE PREPARATION

Before the application, the timber surface shall be clean, dry, well smoothened, with max. 12% humidity and free of resin residues. The timber surface with high content of resins (larch, pine) shall be cleaned of all resin residues, e.g. by washing by C 6000 nitro-solvent. Quality of wood preparation determines overall look of the wood final finish and affects total lifetime of the coating system.

First it is recommended to treat the timber surface with a suitable impregnation, which ensures uniform absorbency and higher protection of the timber surface of wood (in case of using fungicidal impregnation also protection against attack of mould, fungi and insects). Subsequently it is necessary to lightly abrade a surface by fine sandpaper in the direction of the grain, dust off and apply varnish.

The metal surface must be clean, dry, degreased, free of rust and dust, mechanically cleaned.

Remove all poorly adhering old coats to the solid surface when renovate (in a case of a total removal of the old paint apply new paint system progressively, including wood impregnation).

Thinner: BALTECH S6006 for cleaning tools

Spreading capacity: 8 - 12 m²/l on one layer

WORKFLOW

Properly mix before use. Especially in matt variant it is necessary to thoroughly mix matting agent homogeneously in the whole volume. Apply on the prepared surface. It shouldn´t be thinned, it is ready to use. 
Wood coating
1. 1x impregnation with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 (interior) or LAZUROL FUNGIIDAL IMPREGNATION S1033 (exterior). Sanding and recoating is possible after 24 hours.
2. 1x LAZUROL THIXOTROPIC VARNISH S1091. Regrind with a sandpaper No. 220 after 24 hours. The second and next coat can be applied after 24 hours. Optimal thickness of one coat is 35 - 40 μm
3. 1x LAZUROL   THIXOTROPIC VARNISH S1091. Optimal thickness of one coat is 35 - 40 μm.
