The semi-matt single coat combines the character of anticorrosive primer, interlayer and topcoat. It is intended for metal coating both exterior and interior. The paint is ideal for coating of steel materials and oxidized galvanized surfaces like e.g. roofs, metal structures, poles and masts, fences, columns, gates, etc. The paint can also be used for coating porous surfaces such as wood, chipboard or concrete.

SURFACE PREPARATION

The surface must be clean, dry, degreased, free of rust and dust, mechanically cleaned. First of all, the surface must be degreased by means of suitable agent (e.g. BALTECH P6402 TECHNICAL BENZINE, BALTECH P6401 ACETONE or, if it is possible, warm pressurized water with detergent). For removing of residues of various salts it is necessary then to rinse the surface with clear water. Rough and sticky impurities must be removed manually or mechanically (grinding, scraping). Possible rust may be removed also manually or mechanically (metal brushes, grinding discs).

Recommended pre-treatment of fresh galvanized sheets before painting: prepare a mixture of 10 l of water, 0.5 l of ammonia water (concentration of 25%) and ca 50 ml of surfactant (detergent). This solution is applied to the treated sheet and after about 10 minutes operation spread it out i.e.by an artificial fleece swab on broomstick until metal-grey foam occurs. This is followed by a perfect clean water rinsing. The paint is applied after perfect drying of the sheet.

Absorbent bases must be treated (penetrated) with suitable agent, providing even absorbency. Formerly coated surfaces must be cleaned, degreased and without old non-adhesive paints.

Thinner: BALTECH S6006

Spreading capacity: 10 - 12 m²/l per one layer

WORKFLOW

Apply it on the prepared surface. Thin the paint before the use by means of thinner BALTECH S6006 and stir well. Apply in 2 or 3 layers according to the requirements. Time interval between particular layers is 24 hours at minimum. Recommended thickness of one dry layer is 30 – 40 µm.                  The shades 0912 aluminium and 0970 copper can only be applied with a brush and roller without aesthetic appeal. Mainly they are intended for spray application.

Different colour shades are possible be prepared by tinting system BALMIX.
