HOSTAGRUND BLACKSMITH COAT S2160

The product is intended especially for highly effective, decorative coats of blacksmith products where an attractive "forged" look and a long durability are required, for indoor and outdoor environments (e.g. all kind of forging, restoration works, bars, gates, fences, railings, streetlamps, wrought furniture, iron sculptures). It is characteristic by an excellent adhesion to steel surfaces and by very quick drying even in thick layers. The thixotropic character allows to applicate the paint in very thick layers. It is suitable for absorbent substrates such as wood or masonry as well.

SURFACE PREPARATION

The surface must be clean, dry, degreased, free of rust and dust, mechanically cleaned. First of all, the surface must be degreased by means of suitable agent (e.g. BALTECH P6402 technical benzine, BALTECH P6401 acetone or, if it is possible, warm pressurized water with detergent). For removing of residues of various salts it is necessary then to rinse the surface with clear water. Rough and sticky impurities must be removed manually or mechanically (grinding, scraping). Possible rust may be removed also manually or mechanically (metal brushes, grinding discs). Absorbent bases must be treated (penetrated) with suitable agent, providing even absorbency. Formerly coated surfaces must be cleaned, degreased and without old non-adhesive paints.

Thinner: BALTECH S6005 for cleaning tools

Spreading capacity: ca 4.5 m²/l per one layer

WORKFLOW

Properly stir before use, it shouldn´t be thinned, i tis ready to use. Stirring disrupts the gel and the product becomes slightly liquid. Apply by brush or by spraying 1-2x coat of HOSTAGRUND BALCKSMITH COAT S2160 in the way to get the final thickness of dry paint film at least 100 mm. If it is necessary, apply the next coats after 4 hours (soonest after 24 hours).
