HOSTAGRUND 2v1 ZINEX S2820

The single coat is intended for protective anticorrosive coatings of steel and light metals, including fresh galvanized steel, both for exterior and interior. It has excellent adhesion to a variety of substrates, fast drying and good weather resistance. The paint can also be used as an anticorrosive primer under acrylic, polyurethane or epoxy topcoats.

SURFACE PREPARATION

The surface must be clean, dry, degreased, free of rust and dust, mechanically cleaned. First of all, the surface must be degreased by means of suitable agent (e.g. BALTECH P6402 TECHNICAL BENZINE, BALTECH P6401 ACETONE or, if it is possible, warm pressurized water with detergent). For removing of residues of various salts it is necessary then to rinse the surface with clear water. Rough and sticky impurities must be removed manually or mechanically (grinding, scraping). Possible rust may be removed also manually or mechanically (metal brushes, grinding discs).

Recommended pre-treatment of fresh galvanized sheets before painting: prepare a mixture of 10 l of water, 0.5 l of ammonia water (concentration of 25%) and ca 50 ml of surfactant (detergent). This solution is applied to the treated sheet and after about 10 minutes operation spread it out i.e.by an artificial fleece swab on broomstick until metal-grey foam occurs. This is followed by a perfect clean water rinsing. The paint is applied after perfect drying of the sheet. Formerly coated surfaces must be cleaned, degreased and without old non-adhesive paints.

WORKFLOW

Open the container just before use, mix the paint thoroughly to homogenize it, thin with BALTECH S6006 if necessary and again mix thoroughly. Apply HOSTAGRUND 2in1 ZINEX S2820 on the prepared surface in the way to get the final thickness of dry paint film at least 80 mm. To ensure long life, it is recommended to apply 2 coats. The second layer can be applied after 8h / 20 °C, in case of spray application it is possible to use the "wet to wet" system after approx. 15 - 30 min / 20 °C.

First it is necessary to treat problematic areas (corners, edges, welds, surface defects).

The RAL 9006 white aluminium shade can only be applied with a brush and roller without aesthetic appeal. Mainly it is intended for spray application.
